Where did the Yorkshire Gardener begin
How did I get into gardening
The question everyone always asks me is how did I get into gardening? Well I was about 14 when my dad took on his first allotment. I used to help him all the time on his plot, to which I thoroughly enjoyed.
When I got to the age of 18 I thought to myself why am I helping my dad when I can have my own plot where I can relax on and enjoy the benefits of growing homegrown fruit and vegetables.
Now I am 33 and I still feel like a beginner learning all the time – it’s certainly something that you never stop learning. There is always new ways of growing.
So where did The Yorkshire Gardener come from?
It all started about one and a half years ago when I thought I’ll start up my own Facebook page where I will keep a log of everything i’m doing for my own personal benefit.
I then started to get new followers as I kept posting things – I thought to myself what is happening here? Why are people following me? But it turned out they were following me because they enjoyed what I posted. The numbers were growing as I posted more. Since then it has kept on growing and growing.
