There has been many reports over the recent years to say that gardening is very good for the mood. The reports state that over 87% of people say that gardening is good for you if you garden for more than 6 hours a week. It is all about staying busy and taking your mind off things. Being outdoors can help increase serotonin  on the brain

According to scientists the friendly bacteria in soil can work the same way as anti depressants by boosting the imune system.

Having lavender and inhaling the scents can alter the gene activity and reduce stress or depression according to Japanese scientists.

When I’m out in my allotment I feel at my best and enjoy being outside with nature. When I’ve spent the day on the allotment I come home feeling great and enjoy being outside in the fresh air.

It is always good if you are feeling down to talk to someone though do not suffer alone – it’s good to talk
