Draw a plan of your allotment

When I got my allotment 12 years ago I had great ideas of my plot and how I wanted it to look. I had a green house and paths that were wood chipped. But it also was not very organised at all. As I’ve grown older and a little more wiser. My plot as changed shape and my ideas have changed as I’ve learnt new things along the way.

I’ve since got rid of my greenhouse to which I’ve built my own purpose one. I’ve also got my poly tunnel and I’ve got all my layout planned out. It’s taken me about 8 years to get to where I am now. But over the last couple of years I’ve been thinking how I can make the plot bigger and better.

My plans for the next 12 months are:-

  • Extend my shed and have a designated Melon growing shed and cucumber shed.
  • Have planters all round the edge of the plot with strawberry plants – thus increasing the amount of plants from 50 to about 300
  • Have Raspberry plants all round the edge of my plot.
  • Grow Loganberry plants

So each year I invest so much into my plot doing a bit more up each year. So eventually it will all be done.

It is great to draw a plan of how you would like it and a plan of it if money was no object.
