How to grow tips and advice
In this section we will be giving tips and advice for growing Aubergines.
Sowing and Planting
The best soil for aubergines to be grown in are a sunny spot, ideally in a greenhouse or a poly tunnel or under a frame or a cloche. These are best grown in grow bags and are best suited to a sunny spot. Make sure lots of well rotted organic matter has been added to the soil.
When to plant
Sow these in late winter or early spring time but they need a temperature of around 21 degrees to 30 degrees. You can sow around 10 seeds per a 9cm pot. These can then be transplanted when they are big enough to handle. These then

Planting
You can sow around 10 seeds per a 9cm pot. These can then be transplanted when they are big enough to handle. These then can be grown at around 16-20 degrees celcius. These can be planted out when the first flowers start to form. Two or three plants per standard growbag.
Growing
Water plants regularly and keep them humid by dampening down regularly this helps with pollination at stop red spider mite. Make sure you feed the plants with a high potash liquid feed.
Harvesting
You can harvest the fruit as soon as it reaches it’s full size and develops it’s skin colour. To get the remaining fruit to ripen at the end of the season remove any that forms after late summer as they will not reach maturity. This will let the plant put it’s efforts into ripening the larger fruit.
