There are lots of other jobs that need to be done in the garden in January. Follow these simple tasks to get a good start of the year.

Start the year off great and get on top of the weeds. Dig any roots up and clear any weeds hanging around.

If it snows remove this from greenhouses and conifers as the weight of it could damage them.

Get your real Christmas trees shredded and add them to your compost bin, they will be great for the compost. If not break them down and use them for pea stakes

Feed the birds – encourage birds to your garden by hanging up fat balls. This will encourage them to come and eat the insects.

Clean up paving and patios – scrub them with a brush or even blast them with the pressure washer.

Check on fruit and vegetables that you have in storage and discard any diseased ones.
