Planning to Grow through Winter

Autumn and Winter can always be a tricky time to plant. For the last 15 years of having an allotment I’ve never grown anything through the Winter. After I have harvested I’ve always shut the plot down until around February.

This year however I’m going to continue right through. Usually I find it a good time to be improving my plot. But now I’ve got it all into the layout that I want I’ve more time to concentrate on growing the produce.

I’ve been doing quite a bit of reading up on what you can grow and what you can start ready for next year.

I’m quite looking forward to working through the chilly days and spending even more time on the allotment.

Has anyone else had any success at growing through the winter? If so what did you grow?
