What to do on the allotment when it’s raining

Well I don’t know if it’s like it near you but in Sheffield all we have been having is rain rain and more rain it does not seem to be stopping so what are the things you should be doing on your plot?

Well the thing’s i’ve been doing on my plot is sorting out all the jobs which you don’t want to be doing when its a dry day. These include tiding out my greenhouse ready for spring. When spring comes you will realise you have no time with all the seed planting and potting up you have to do.

You can also wash all your plant pots out ready for next year so no diseases are spread from last year, this can be done with normal fairy liquid.

You can be checking your greenhouse and poly tunnels for any damage from the year and repair them before we get any bad winds as you will not want it getting damaged any more.

One thing I always do is draw a plan – It’s always great to draw a plan of your allotment to give you an idea of what you want to do on your plot for the following year then you know what you are working towards
